Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Kenny Wayne Sheppard…are these guys fighting with Rolling Stone???
I know this is a little out of date but I had to ask for someone else’s opinion.
I just read a couple of Rolling Stone articles where for example they publish their 100 greatest artist of all time and…where the hell is Pink Floyd. I mean Guns n’ Roses appear as # 92 and Diana Ross and The Supremes at #98. Don’t get me wrong, I like Gn’R and even a couple of song of The Supremes but this is Pink Floyd we’re talking about.
Then I check their list of 100 greatest guitar players of all time and Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Kenny Wayne Sheppard are missing and Jack White of the White Stripes appears at #17. Again, I like the White Stripes but the guy has been in the business what? 10 years.
Who makes the choice, other musicians, reporters what???
If you have an opinion, share it…
Not to mention Dark Side of the Moon being the 37th best album. It has sold over 40 million copies. The people at Rolling Stone must have been rolling some joints and doing some stone when they left Pink Floyd out of this list. Makes me wanna punch someone in the face. How can there be 100 bands better than Floyd. In my opinion, Floyd is #1, not only was their music amazing, but it was revolutionary. Also, Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour was left off the list. fuck!ng bull
