Pink Floyd, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Kenny Wayne Sheppard … these guys are fighting with Rolling Stone?
I know it's a bit out of date but he had to ask someone else opinion. I just read a few articles for Rolling Stone where, for example, who published their 100 Greatest Artists of all time … and where the hell is Pink Floyd. I mean Guns N 'Roses show up as # 92 and Diana Ross and The Supremes to # 98. Do not get me wrong no, I like Guns N 'Roses and even some songs from The Supremes, Pink Floyd but we speak. Then I can check their list of top 100 greatest guitarists of all time, and Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Kenny Wayne Sheppard are missing and Jack White of White Stripes is the number # 17. Again, I The White Stripes, but the boy has been in business what? 10. Who made the choice, other musicians, journalists or something? If you have an opinion, share …
Part of the use of these lists is the "controversy" and the conversations they inspire. Ask 100 people who receive 100 different lists. All of these people is something missing from other lists. Personally, my Pink Floyd would not have if it were a list of 10,000. I never liked what I heard from them, then never think this place. As for the guitar hero you mentioned, although I love them all, I say that all fall into the flashy guitar, but not seriously category rounded musicians. A guitarist is striking that, as in the case Kenny Wayne does not write much and not singing (much or most) would not be the principle "the list" when there are many people who write, arrange, producing and performing. I also say it is very likely try to represent every genre. So if you have to Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jonny Lang, BB King, Albert King and many others electric blues guitarists like Kenny Wayne you could go and work in other genres. For the record, Kenny Wayne could make my list I created! As to who made the list, I'm not sure but I think it is his staff. Chalk that contrary to public opinion.
