How long does it take to learn the basic guitar?
I've been meaning to learn for about three years now. I learned individual notes on the strings. I do not know chords, ha. How long do you think will take me to learn? I want to learn this summer and year.

Few months to several years depending on how the practice, if you take lessons, what kind of effort you put, etc. Everyone is different. I have students who can play music based on one week and others take a little longer. Lessons definitely help. Finding a good local instructor qualified to help you and you should play songs and basic chord progressions at any time.
