"Santa Monica" by Everclear (rather than an issue for players, unless you know what I mean)?
First, this song is by far one of the songs the most underrated I know. Now my question is about the equipment used when playing the song. The first part, it seems that I put my amp on clean channel and set up my guitar for the pickup nearest the bridge are the only two working (5 switches guitar in my collection). I can not say on Part 2. This is a distortion, because it's later in the song. In addition to not exactly be play the guitar and change saturation channel clean amp at the same time (how many people have never). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If your amplifier not come with a footswitch, so here is a simple way to get a similar sound. If you use a distortion pedal or saturation that you have it on during the "Second" of guitar you're talking about and just shrink (ie round down) a little volume to the guitar output his own a bit. I'm pretty sure that's what they do and never played this song live. Many guitarists with this technique when need a semi-clean sound, with some difficulty. Anyway, hope this helps.
