Looking for songs that have a steel guitar in the foreground.?
I look for songs you can listen to Rhapsody to have a good series of steel guitar, preferably in the genre of gospel or country. In addition, for the players, how long does it take for you to learn to play well, and none is useful to know how to play regular first guitar. The examples I have found include Marty Robbins "Jenny", and tomorrow the Kendalls "Here Today Gone".
Steel Guitar Rag is probably one of the most famous. kd lang's latest album has a good job on that. Look for artists like the late Sneaky Pete Kleinow and Buddy Emmons for some of the best. Steel did not limited to the styles of country, either. Check out some Robert Randolph and the family group, or jazz things Buddy. I love the steel guitar, because it is one the few tools that allow you to bend the notes of the chord, which makes it truly unique. Good luck
